Corpse Party: Missing Footage

Corpse Party: Missing Footage was produced by Studio Asread and released in 2012 as an original video animation. It serves as a brief, supplemental companion piece to the broader Corpse Party franchise, which originated from a cult-classic indie survival horror game created by Team GrisGris. The animation was developed to provide additional visual content for fans who had engaged with the dark, supernatural narrative of the series, reflecting the intense and macabre aesthetic that defines the franchise's identity.

The design and tone of the animation are deeply rooted in the established art style of the series, prioritizing a grim atmosphere and psychological horror elements. As a production, it was aimed specifically at the existing community of players and viewers familiar with the visceral storytelling and character-driven stakes of the games. By distilling the series' signature themes into a short-form format, the release functioned as a dedicated piece of fan service, intended to expand the world-building of the Heavenly Host Elementary setting.
