In times of olde, God gave mankind the ten commandments, and a message that has been lost to the centuries. In the present, Koichiro Kamishiro is a modern day Indiana Jones who scours (and often destroys) ruins for hints of the past, until one day he runs across a box filled with two crystal triangles. Having inadvertently run across the key to God's lost message, Kamishiro suddenly has a lot to deal with including assassination attempts by the KGB and the CIA, aliens hell-bent on destroying the Earth and the love of several women!

Where it came from
Released in 1987 by Movic, Crystal Triangle—also known as A.D. Police—is a science fiction original video animation that emerged during the peak of the 1980s Japanese animation boom. The production was heavily influenced by the gritty, high-tech aesthetics of the cyberpunk genre, which was gaining significant global traction at the time. It was created as a stylistic exploration of futuristic urban decay, blending police procedural elements with occult and cosmic horror themes.
The visual design of the project is often noted for its departure from traditional hero-centric narratives, leaning instead into a more experimental, dark atmospheric tone. Directed and designed by creators associated with the broader Bubblegum Crisis universe, the work was intended to push the boundaries of what home video animation could accomplish in terms of mature storytelling. While it remains a niche entry in the history of the medium, it is recognized by enthusiasts for its contribution to the late-80s aesthetic and its specific blend of mechanical and supernatural imagery.
