Where it came from
CUE! was produced by studios Graphinica and Yumeta Company and aired in 2022, serving as an anime adaptation of the mobile game originally released by Liber Entertainment. The series follows the journey of aspiring voice actresses as they navigate the competitive landscape of the Japanese entertainment industry, aiming to provide a grounded look at the training, auditions, and collaborative efforts required to succeed in the field of voice acting.
The character designs were overseen by Motohiro Taniguchi, who sought to translate the aesthetic of the original game into an animation-friendly format that highlighted the unique personalities of the sixteen main characters. While the series received moderate attention for its technical look at the voice-over profession, it was primarily received by fans of the mobile game as a supplementary expansion of the franchise's established lore and character interactions.
