Ritsuka Tachibana lives a calm and unchanging life. Her life begins changing bit by bit when Shikou Academy student council president, Rem Kaginuki, calls on the girl, and she begins having mysterious encounters with the student council members. One day, she comes home to find her mother collapsed with suspicious hooded men nearby. They were not humans but devils, vampires, and exorcists seeking the Forbidden Grimoire. Ritsuka's former daily life crumbles around her, and she finds herself slowly becoming attracted to Rem, who helps her in her predicament. On the other hand, confusion deepens with regard to her brother who carries a secret. Ritsuka is unsure what path to choose as she finds herself at the center of a love story.

Where it came from
Dance with Devils: Fortuna was released in 2017 as a cinematic continuation of the 2015 television anime series produced by Brain's Base. The film serves as a compilation of the original show's narrative while incorporating significant new sequences and multiple branching endings, allowing viewers to experience the story from the perspective of different romantic interests. It was developed to expand upon the franchise's unique blend of gothic romance and musical theater, maintaining the studio's commitment to integrating diegetic singing performances into the dramatic structure.
The film's design and aesthetic were crafted to mirror the dark, Victorian-inspired fantasy roots of the series, overseen by director Ai Yoshimura. By blending traditional animation techniques with the high-energy musical numbers expected by the fan base, the production aimed to provide a definitive, interactive-style experience for those who followed the original broadcast. Upon its release, it was well-received by the existing community, who appreciated the technical polish brought to the new musical sequences and the creative framing of the series' core romantic conflicts.
