Danchigai

Danchigai is a slice-of-life anime series produced by DAX Production that premiered in 2015. Adapted from the four-panel manga by Kazusa Yoneda, the series follows the daily lives of Haruki Nakano and his four distinct sisters who live together in a single apartment. The show fits within the mid-2010s trend of short-form anime adaptations designed to highlight comedic character dynamics within a constrained episodic format.

The production sought to capture the lighthearted, domestic chaos inherent in the original manga's episodic structure. By focusing on the playful, sometimes competitive interactions between the siblings, the animation team prioritized character-driven humor over complex plot development. While the series was noted for its brevity and focus on niche comedy, it remains a recognized example of the domestic comedy subgenre prevalent in the mid-2010s Japanese animation landscape.
