On the day of the Tanabata festival, Shidou Itsuka happens to meet the eerie Kurumi Tokisaki, who proceeds to ask him out on a date. Although nervous, Shidou accepts the offer. The two spend their time visiting a planetarium, buying food at the festival, and trying out a mock wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, Shidou's friends—Tohka Yatogami, Yoshino, and Kotori Itsuka—are looking for him, while also enjoying the festival themselves.
As Shidou spends the day with Kurumi, he begins to notice an unexpected softer side of her. He knows that Kurumi is infamously called the "Worst Spirit," but the girl standing before him is a gentle soul. However, as the day draws to a close, Shidou finally begins to understand the truth behind it all.
Note: Unaired 11th episode of the TV series bundled with the third volume of Date A Live Encore.

Where it came from
Date A Live II: Kurumi Star Festival was produced by AIC Plus+ and released in 2014 as an original video animation. It serves as a narrative expansion to the second season of the Date A Live anime franchise, focusing specifically on the character Kurumi Tokisaki. The production was part of a multimedia strategy designed to capitalize on the popularity of Koushi Tachibana's light novel series, which blends harem, science fiction, and action elements.
The episode features character designs adapted by Satoshi Ishino, who aimed to translate Tsunako’s original light novel illustrations into a style suitable for television animation. The project was conceived to offer a more intimate, side-story perspective on the series' most prominent antagonist, providing fans with a deeper look at Kurumi's motivations and aesthetic appeal. Upon its release, it was well-received by the existing fanbase for its faithful character portrayal and stylistic alignment with the broader series.
