D.C.III: Da Capo III

D.C.III: Da Capo III was produced by the studio Feel and released in 2013 as an anime adaptation of the visual novel developed by Circus. The project emerged as the third main installment in the long-running Da Capo franchise, which had established a significant presence in the romance and slice-of-life genre since its debut in 2002. Set on the island of Hatsune, the series centers on the Wind-Watching Club and incorporates the franchise’s signature elements of magical realism, cherry blossoms, and nostalgic storytelling.

The character designs for the television series were adapted by Atsuko Watanabe, who aimed to maintain the soft, sentimental aesthetic established by the original game's illustrators. The series was designed to evoke a sense of longing and continuation for fans of the previous entries, focusing on a new cast while revisiting the thematic roots of the series. While it received a polarized reception due to the challenges of condensing a complex visual novel narrative into a single television season, it remains a notable entry in the evolution of the Da Capo saga.
