Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween

The Bride of Halloween is the twenty-fifth installment in the long-running Detective Conan film franchise, produced by TMS Entertainment and released in Japanese theaters in April 2022. The film was directed by Susumu Mitsunaka, known for his work on Haikyu!!, with a screenplay by Takahiro Okura. It was developed to continue the series' tradition of high-stakes, action-oriented narratives, centering on a dramatic bombing incident in Tokyo that forces the protagonist, Conan Edogawa, to navigate a complex web of past traumas and modern-day threats.

The design of the film maintains the established visual language of Gosho Aoyama’s original manga, though it introduces a more cinematic, fluid animation style suited for the film's intense urban chase sequences. Upon its release, the film was received positively by both critics and long-term fans, who praised its focus on the 'Police Academy' arc characters. It achieved significant commercial success, underscoring the enduring popularity of the franchise as it celebrated its quarter-century milestone on the silver screen.
