Detective Conan: The Eleventh Striker

Released in 2012, The Eleventh Striker is the sixteenth installment in the long-running Detective Conan film series, produced by TMS Entertainment. The film was commissioned to coincide with the J.League's twentieth anniversary, weaving the world of professional Japanese soccer into the mystery genre. It represents a recurring trend in the franchise where the narrative centers on a high-stakes investigation involving a popular public event or cultural phenomenon, allowing the creators to blend the signature detective tropes of Gosho Aoyama with real-world sports action.

The film was directed by Yasuichiro Yamamoto, who has been a central figure in the anime's production history. The design and animation work were heavily focused on integrating authentic soccer stadium environments and match footage, a significant technical challenge for the studio at the time. Upon its release, it was received as a standard entry in the series, appreciated by fans for its focus on dynamic action sequences while maintaining the core appeal of Conan Edogawa's deductive prowess.
