Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser

Released in 2009, Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser serves as the thirteenth feature film in the long-running anime franchise based on the manga by Gosho Aoyama. Produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Yasuichiro Yamamoto, the film was conceived as a high-stakes entry that would bring the central antagonists, the Black Organization, to the forefront of the narrative. The plot centers on a string of murders across Tokyo and Kanagawa, forcing Conan Edogawa to confront the organization that originally shrunk him.

The film was notable for its shift toward a more serious, suspenseful tone compared to its predecessors, effectively utilizing the cinematic format to raise the stakes for the series' recurring cast. Upon its release in Japan, it was met with significant commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing film in the franchise at that time. Critics and fans largely praised the tighter integration of the overarching series lore into a standalone feature, cementing its status as a pivotal entry that bridged episodic mystery tropes with the larger, darker conflict of the main storyline.
