The anime's story centers around three demons who are living in the human world: Aira, Shima, and Hana. While they work hard and make friends at school, they pursue their dream of being an idol. However, because none of them know how to be an idol, they keep trying and straying from their goal. Guided by the kind but sometimes strict lecture of Rocket-sensei, they strive to become idols.

Where it came from
Devidol! emerged in 2018 as a niche anime series produced by the Japanese gaming parlor operator PACHINKO&SLOT ISLAND. The project was conceived as an promotional vehicle for the company's branded slot machines, utilizing the medium of short-form animation to build an aesthetic identity around the concept of 'demon idols.' By blending the high-energy archetypes of idol culture with dark fantasy character designs, the studio sought to capture the attention of a younger demographic familiar with modern anime tropes.
The animation was produced with a focus on quick, character-driven storytelling designed to be accessible to viewers in transient settings. While the series functions primarily as a commercial tie-in to the developer's physical gaming machines, its design reflects the standard visual shorthand of the late-2010s digital anime aesthetic. It received a modest reception, viewed primarily by enthusiasts of experimental promotional media and those interested in the crossover between the pachinko industry and the television animation market.
