Where it came from
Devils’ Line: Anytime Anywhere was released in 2018 as an original video animation (OVA) following the conclusion of the anime adaptation of Ryo Hanada’s dark fantasy manga series. Produced by studio Platinum Vision, this standalone episode serves as an epilogue to the main television series, focusing on the intimate development of the relationship between the two lead characters, Tsukasa Taira and Yuuki Anzai.
The production sought to provide closure and a softer tone compared to the more suspenseful and violent narrative of the series, shifting the focus toward character-driven melodrama. Designed to bridge narrative gaps for fans of the source material, the OVA retains the core aesthetic of the anime while emphasizing character interaction. It was received as a niche supplementary release, primarily appreciated by established followers of the franchise for its focus on the protagonists' personal emotional journey.
