Where it came from
Durarara!! X2 The Third Arc, titled Ketsu, serves as the final installment of the second season of the anime adaptation of Ryohgo Narita's light novel series. Released in 2016, this arc concludes the complex, multi-perspective narrative set in the Ikebukuro district of Tokyo, bringing the conflict surrounding the Dollars, the Yellow Scarves, and the Saika blade to its definitive resolution.
The production transitioned to Studio Shuka, a company formed by former members of Brain's Base who had worked on the original series. The visual direction aimed to maintain the stylized, urban grit established in the first season while managing a vast ensemble cast. Upon its release, the series was well-regarded by fans of the light novels for its faithful adaptation of the final volume of the original narrative arc.
