Ebiten: Kouritsu Ebisugawa Koukou Tenmonbu Specials

Ebiten: Kouritsu Ebisugawa Koukou Tenmonbu was produced by AIC in 2012 as an anime adaptation of the manga series written by SCA-自 and illustrated by Kira Inugami. The series follows the comedic antics of the Ebisugawa High School Astronomy Club, focusing on the character Itsuya Nomura and his interactions with the eccentric female members of the club. The specials were released as bonus episodes accompanying the home video releases, providing additional lighthearted side stories that expanded on the gag-driven nature of the source material.

The aesthetic of the series leans heavily into fan service and character-driven slapstick, which was a common trend in mid-2010s late-night anime. The design of the characters maintains the vibrant, expressive style established in Kira Inugami's original illustrations. While the series was aimed at a niche demographic of comedy and harem anime enthusiasts, its reception was generally centered on its stylistic commitment to absurdist humor and the chemistry between the primary cast members.
