Where it came from
Eien, which translates to eternity, was released by the Japanese musical project Secai in the early 2010s. The work emerged from the niche doujin music scene, a community characterized by independent production and a deep focus on atmospheric, electronic, and ambient soundscapes. It was crafted to evoke a sense of timelessness and reflection, utilizing layered synth textures and rhythmic patterns common to the era's experimental electronic music.
The visual aesthetic and composition were largely overseen by the creative core of Secai, who aimed to bridge the gap between abstract digital art and emotive musical storytelling. The project was received within its specific circle of enthusiasts as a contemplative study in minimalism, gaining modest recognition for its coherent sonic identity and the deliberate, slow-paced progression that became a signature of the artist's output during this period.
