Eiga! Tamagotchi Uchuu Ichi Happy na Monogatari!?

Released in 2008, Eiga! Tamagotchi Uchuu Ichi Happy na Monogatari!? serves as the second feature-length film in the Tamagotchi franchise. It was produced by the studio ODDJOB following the global resurgence of the digital pet phenomenon that began with the release of the Tamagotchi Connection series. The film was designed to broaden the appeal of the brand beyond the handheld device market, positioning the digital characters within a narrative-driven cinematic universe to engage a younger audience who grew up with the toy's evolving iterations.

The film's visual aesthetic maintains the rounded, vibrant design language characteristic of the Tamagotchi brand during the late 2000s, focusing on accessible, high-energy animation. Upon its debut in Japan, it functioned primarily as a promotional vehicle intended to solidify the franchise's longevity in the media space. While it received a modest reception primarily limited to the core fanbase of the franchise, it remains a notable example of late-2000s attempts to translate interactive electronic toys into traditional film media.
