Yuji can't deny it —he's infatuated with Satsuki. She's the center of his every waking thought, the star of his every wet dream… There's just one major problem. Satsuki is his late brother's fiance. Now, a year after his brother's death, Yuji is hoping the day has finally come to make his move, but a steamy night with Miki, the shy red-headed girl at work, could change everything. Should he be with the girl he's always wanted, or the girl who's always wanted him?

Where it came from
Endless Serenade, released in 2000 by Studio Y.O.U.C, emerged during a transitional period in the original video animation (OVA) market. As the medium moved away from the high-budget experimentalism of the early nineties, studios began focusing on tighter, character-driven narratives that catered to an increasingly dedicated fanbase. This production reflects the aesthetic shifts of the turn of the millennium, characterized by a move toward cleaner digital coloring and more fluid character animation styles that would define the next decade of independent animation.
The creative direction for Endless Serenade was intended to balance atmospheric storytelling with the intimate character arcs that were hallmarks of Y.O.U.C's portfolio. The production team aimed to capture a sense of melancholic nostalgia, utilizing a soft color palette and rhythmic pacing to mirror the title's musical theme. While the OVA occupies a niche corner of the animation landscape, it is often cited by collectors as a representative example of the studio's technical evolution during the year 2000.
