Where it came from
Fan Ying, also known as Fan Ying: The Animation, is an original net animation produced by YHKT Entertainment. Emerging from the burgeoning Chinese digital animation sector, the project was developed to explore domestic storytelling through stylized 2D and 3D blended aesthetics. It serves as a representation of the studio’s efforts to modernize traditional narratives for contemporary online platforms, catering to an audience accustomed to high-paced, visually dynamic episodic content.
The design philosophy behind the series focuses on expressive character silhouettes and fluid action choreography, typical of YHKT’s house style. By utilizing digital-first production techniques, the creative team aimed to maintain a distinct visual identity while navigating the competitive landscape of Chinese streaming services. Upon its release, the project was recognized within niche animation circles for its technical ambition and its role in expanding the studio's portfolio within the short-form ONA format.
