Where it came from
Fighter of the Destiny SS2 is a sequel in the Chinese animated series adapted from the web novel written by Mao Ni. Produced by the animation studio Foch, the series was released as an ONA (Original Net Animation) to capitalize on the success of the first season and the broader multimedia franchise, which included a live-action television adaptation that significantly elevated the brand's visibility in the mid-2010s.
The animation style and design choices were centered on maintaining the high-fantasy aesthetic characteristic of the xianxia genre, aiming to translate complex martial arts sequences and magical cultivation systems into a digital medium. While the series faced scrutiny from dedicated fans of the original source material regarding pacing and narrative fidelity, it remains a notable example of the studio's efforts to expand its domestic portfolio within the competitive Chinese animation landscape.
