Where it came from
Foreordination is a notable ONA produced by the Chinese platform Bilibili, emerging during a period of significant growth for the studio's original animation initiatives. Released as part of an effort to expand the domestic animation market, the work reflects the platform's focus on high-fidelity digital art and contemporary narrative trends aimed at a younger, internet-savvy demographic.
The production leans into the polished aesthetic common to modern Chinese animation, prioritizing fluid visual language and world-building motifs consistent with the studio's broader catalog. It was developed to test new stylistic ground, aiming to capture the attention of a competitive online landscape that values distinct, stylized storytelling over traditional broadcast formats.
