All Misuzu Moritani has to do is think about it and, for three minutes, time seems to halt for everyone but herself. But three minutes isn't long enough to go anywhere and come back, especially when you can only do it once a day. So, mostly Misuzu just amuses herself… until she makes the mistake of sneaking a peek up the skirt of a classmate she's been crushing on and it turns out that Haruka Murakami is somehow immune to Misuzu's powers! Oops. And now a really embarrassed Misuzu has to make it up to Haruka. Double oops. Even if it means getting into a "relationship". Wait, what?

Where it came from
Fragtime was produced by Tear-Studio and released in Japanese theaters in 2019 as a short-form theatrical film. It is based on the manga series by Sato, which originally ran on the Akita Shoten web platform from 2013 to 2014. The narrative explores the blossoming relationship between Misuzu Moritani, a girl with the ability to stop time for three minutes a day, and her classmate Haruka Murakami, whose movements are unaffected by the pause.
The film was directed by Takuya Sato, who sought to maintain the intimate and quiet atmosphere of the original manga while adapting the unique mechanics of the time-stop premise. The production aimed to highlight the emotional nuance of its protagonists as they navigate complex feelings within the surreal constraints of the story. Upon its release, the project was noted for its character-focused approach and served as a significant, though final, major effort for the studio before its closure.
