FRAME ARMS BATTLE KINETIX “A violent struggle”

Frame Arms Battle Kinetix, specifically the segment titled A violent struggle, was produced in 2015 by studio A-CAT as part of a promotional effort for the Kotobukiya Frame Arms model kit line. These short-form animations were developed to showcase the modular nature of the physical kits, using 3D computer graphics to bring the customizable mecha designs to life in a combat environment. The project served as an extension of the brand's lore, emphasizing the aesthetic appeal of the robotic assemblies rather than a traditional narrative arc.

The animation reflects the industrial and tactical design philosophy synonymous with the Frame Arms aesthetic, which focuses on militaristic silhouettes and interchangeable armor components. By utilizing studio A-CAT’s background in CG-heavy productions, the creators aimed to demonstrate the articulation and mechanical potential of the plastic models for the hobbyist community. The short was received primarily as a visual supplement for kit collectors, highlighting the versatility of the franchise’s specialized design system.
