Frame Arms Girl

Frame Arms Girl originated as a spin-off of Kotobukiya's long-running Frame Arms model kit series. The concept transitioned from static mecha kits to anthropomorphic girl characters equipped with mechanical armor, blending the hobbyist appeal of plastic modeling with the narrative depth of anime. This 2017 series, produced by studio ZEXCS, was designed to act as a multimedia bridge, showcasing the buildable nature of the figures while providing a slice-of-life framework for the characters.

The production sought to emphasize the unique premise of the model kits, where the characters themselves possess sentience and interact with their human owners. The character designs were adapted from the collaborative work of various mechanical designers and illustrators who contributed to the original model line, ensuring visual consistency with the kits. Upon release, the show was primarily received as a dedicated companion piece for collectors, successfully driving interest in the physical model kits through its character-driven storytelling.
