Bandai began streaming an animated promotional video for its upcoming Geki Drive racing kits Tuesday. The new, customizable cars are set for release in January 2016. The video shows two cars, the Dragon Gear (white) and Night Cougar (black). The cars are the first is the toy line's GD Machine Series. A third car, Burst Phoenix (red), is also planned. The cars utilize the "Link Unit System," making them easy to upgrade with new parts and assemble. Bandai is also releasing a 90-degree bank-curved track. The track is recreated in the animated promotional video.

Where it came from
Geki Drive was introduced by Bandai in 2016 as a high-performance hobby toy line, intended to revitalize the competitive miniature racing market. The series focused on customizable slotless cars powered by a central drive system, allowing users to assemble their vehicles from modular components to optimize speed and handling on proprietary modular tracks.
The design philosophy behind Geki Drive prioritized aerodynamic styling and mechanical complexity, aiming to attract both younger enthusiasts and hobbyists who appreciated technical customization. While the line received praise for its innovative motor integration and the strategic depth of its track configurations, it faced significant market competition from established racing toy franchises, leading to a focused but relatively short-lived production run.
