GG Bond: Guarding

GG Bond: Guarding, released in 2017, is a feature-length installment in the long-running Chinese animated franchise GG Bond, produced by Winsing Animation. The series, which debuted in 2005, follows a superpowered piglet who serves as a heroic figure for young audiences. Guarding was developed as part of the studio's broader effort to expand the narrative depth and visual fidelity of the franchise, shifting toward more cinematic, high-stakes storytelling to maintain relevance in a saturated market of children's animation.

The character and the film were designed by the creative teams at Winsing to balance slapstick humor with themes of courage and team dynamics. By this stage in the franchise's life cycle, the design language had moved away from its early 2D origins toward a polished 3D aesthetic intended to appeal to a modern generation of viewers. Upon its release, the film was received primarily by the series' established domestic audience, serving as a functional entry that reinforced the brand's identity as a staple of Chinese youth media.
