Where it came from
Ginyuu Mokushiroku Meine Liebe Wieder, released in 2006, serves as the second season to the original Meine Liebe anime series. Produced by Bee Train, the show continues the story of five students at the Rosenstolz Institute, blending elements of historical drama with the bishounen genre. It emerged during a period when the studio was experimenting with atmospheric, character-driven storytelling, aiming to expand upon the intrigue and interpersonal dynamics established in the first season.
The series was directed by Kyomi Sato and maintains the aesthetic style characterized by Bee Train's emphasis on visual tone over high-octane action. The character designs were adapted from the original Konami game franchise, focusing on the aristocratic elegance and romantic undertones typical of the genre at the time. Reception of the series was largely concentrated within the dedicated fanbase of the Meine Liebe franchise, which appreciated the deepening of the protagonists' backstories and the continued focus on the political tensions within the fictional European-inspired setting.
