Gundam Breaker Battlogue

Gundam Breaker Battlogue was released in 2021 as a six-episode original net animation series designed to bridge the gap between the popular Gundam Breaker video game franchise and the physical Gunpla model kit line. Produced by Sunrise, the project was created to provide a narrative framework for the 'Gundam Breaker' concept, which centers on the customization and combat of virtual model kits. By integrating the game's focus on kit-bashing—the practice of combining parts from different models—the series serves as a high-concept marketing vehicle that highlights the versatility of the High Grade model kits.

The production sought to emphasize creative expression, featuring unique mobile suit variations that directly corresponded to retail model kits released alongside the show. The designs were developed by the Sunrise animation team to prioritize modularity, allowing characters to swap limbs and weaponry in ways that mirrored the gameplay mechanics. While the series was met with mixed reviews regarding its brief narrative depth, it was well-received by the hobbyist community for its commitment to showcasing the endless customization possibilities inherent in the Gunpla building experience.
