Where it came from
Hai Yorokonde is a viral track released in 2024 by the Japanese producer Kocchi no Kento. The title, which translates to 'with pleasure' or 'gladly,' serves as a high-energy commentary on the stresses of modern work life, blending an upbeat, catchy melody with lyrics that explore themes of burnout and the performative nature of corporate cheerfulness. The song gained rapid international traction due to its infectious hooks and a visually distinct music video that resonated with listeners across social media platforms.
The creative direction behind the track relies on a vibrant, illustrative aesthetic that complements its fast-paced, synth-heavy production. Kocchi no Kento, known for his distinct vocal style and rhythmic sensibilities, crafted the song to be both relatable and danceable, successfully bridging the gap between niche internet subculture and mainstream accessibility. Its reception has been characterized by widespread use in short-form video content, cementing its status as a notable digital cultural artifact of the mid-2020s.
