HAIKYU!! TO THE TOP Part 2

Haikyu!! To The Top represents the fourth season of the globally celebrated anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate’s manga, focusing on the Karasuno High School volleyball team. Part 2, released in late 2020, covers the highly anticipated Spring High National Tournament arc. Produced by Production I.G, the series was designed to transition the aesthetic of the show toward a more refined, detailed character design style that emphasized the intensity and fluid movement of professional-level volleyball matches.

The reception of this installment was largely defined by the shift in visual direction, which moved away from the more jagged, stylized character models of earlier seasons toward a sleeker look. Under the direction of Masako Sato, the studio sought to capture the psychological depth of the characters during high-stakes games. It is widely considered a technical milestone for the franchise, successfully balancing internal monologues and rapid, tactical sports action during the climactic showdowns against teams like Inarizaki High.
