Hayate no Gotoku! OVA

The Hayate no Gotoku! OVA, released in 2014, was produced by Studio Manglobe to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Kenjiro Hata's long-running manga series. This project served as an epilogue of sorts, bringing together the production team that had helmed the franchise's later television iterations. The OVA was packaged as a special edition bundled with the 41st volume of the manga, reflecting a common Japanese marketing strategy designed to reward loyal print readers with exclusive animated content.

Artistically, the OVA maintains the aesthetic established during the Manglobe era of the series, characterized by a vibrant, comedic sensibility that leans heavily into the slapstick and parody elements of the source material. It was designed as a lighthearted tribute to the cast, focusing on the comedic chemistry between Hayate and the Sanzenin household. While the series has often shifted studios and stylistic directions, this release was well-received by the established fan base for its commitment to the original spirit of the characters and the milestone it represented for the franchise.
