Ai Enma once again returns as the Jigoku Shoujo, who uses Jigoku Tsuushin (Hell Hotline) to allow people to post their grudges on their tormentors, sending them straight to Hell. In exchange, the users of the website will end up in Hell after they die. Meanwhile, a mysterious girl with blue eyes called Kikuri appears and seems to have strange intentions towards Ai and Jigoku Tsuushin's operation.

Where it came from
Hell Girl: Two Mirrors, known in Japan as Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori, was produced by Studio Deen and released in 2006 as the second installment in the Hell Girl franchise. Emerging from the supernatural psychological horror genre, the series expands upon the dark morality play established in the first season, continuing the narrative of Ai Enma, an entity who facilitates acts of supernatural vengeance for desperate individuals. The series was designed to explore the lingering consequences of hatred and the toll that orchestrating revenge takes on both the seeker and the target.
The character designs were handled by Mariko Oka, who maintained the unsettling, ethereal aesthetic that defines the series. The show's visual direction emphasizes a cold, moody atmosphere to reflect its themes of human malice and inevitable karmic retribution. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of episodic dark fantasy for its ability to balance repetitive procedural structures with deep, character-driven tragedies, further cementing the franchise's place in mid-2000s anime culture.
