Where it came from
Here U Are, a Chinese manhua series created by Djun, originated as a popular web serial before being adapted into various formats, including the visual audio-drama and animated series produced by Rouseact. The story follows the evolving relationship between the reserved Yu Yang and the social, forward-leaning Li Huan, navigating themes of academic life, personal growth, and societal expectations in a contemporary university setting.
The narrative is noted for its character-driven approach and Djun’s distinctive, evocative art style, which emphasizes emotional nuance through expressive character designs and atmospheric backgrounds. It gained a substantial following within the danmei genre for its grounded depiction of queer romance, and its transition to the Rouseact production helped solidify its status as a staple of modern web-based storytelling in the region.
