Jecy is a young man on a quest for revenge; he lost his parents to the hands of the organized crime syndicate called the Bismark House - a group on a hunt to acquire a product called ‘lyzorium' at any cost. With incredible abilities such as increased speed and agility, Jecy travels through space with a girl named Tiana; Fork Green, a priest of the Heartland religion who kills criminals slowly to send them to heaven; and a living ship called Paolon. However, Jecy's revenge won't come easily - a woman named Jera, her bloodthirsty little brother Cross and a number of other adversaries stand in their way!

Where it came from
Hi-Speed Jecy was released in 1989 as a two-part original video animation series produced by Studio Pierrot. Created by the manga artist Izumi Matsumoto, known for his seminal work Kimagure Orange Road, the project emerged during the height of the OVA boom in the late 1980s. The story blends science fiction and comedy, centering on a young woman who gains the ability to travel through time, reflecting the decade's fascination with high-concept, genre-bending narratives in domestic animation.
The character designs were handled by Akemi Takada, a frequent collaborator of Matsumoto who defined much of the aesthetic of late 80s anime. Takada’s work on Jecy aimed to capture a sleek, modern, and energetic look that aligned with the show's title. While the series was a notable production for the studio, it remains a cult curiosity today, often discussed more for its creative pedigree and stylistic ties to the era’s popular romantic comedies rather than its lasting impact on the medium.
