Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu, frequently referred to as The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen, began as a web novel by Tenichi before being adapted into a light novel series illustrated by Suzunosuke. The narrative follows Pride Royal Ivy, a princess who discovers she has been reincarnated as the villainous final boss of an otome game, leading her to use her foresight and overpowered abilities to prevent the tragic outcomes she knows are coming. Its transition into a 2023 ONA format was handled by OLM, aiming to capture the character-driven shift from antagonistic trope to benevolent ruler.

The production sought to balance the high-stakes political fantasy of the source material with the softer, character-focused redemption arc of the protagonist. By focusing on Pride’s internal struggle to rewrite her destiny while maintaining the persona of a powerful sovereign, the series was received as a nuanced entry in the villainess subgenre. The visual style, overseen by the studio, emphasized the contrast between the royal aesthetics of the kingdom and the emotional depth of the protagonist's growth, garnering attention for its earnest approach to a well-trodden premise.
