Hua Jianghu: Buliang Ren 3

Hua Jianghu: Buliang Ren, or Bad Guys, is a prominent Chinese 3D animated wuxia series produced by the Beijing-based studio Rocen. The third season continued the narrative established in the previous installments, centering on the complex political power struggles and martial arts conflicts set during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period of Chinese history. The series gained significant cultural traction for its sophisticated motion capture techniques and its departure from traditional 2D Chinese animation styles, effectively blending historical fiction with fantasy elements.

The visual design of the third season represents a maturation of the studio's aesthetic, which leans heavily into intricate costume textures and stylized combat choreography. The creative team aimed to elevate the production quality of domestic web series to compete with international standards, focusing on high-fidelity character modeling and environmental world-building. Upon its release, the third season was noted by critics for its ambitious storytelling and its role in solidifying the franchise as a cornerstone of the modern Chinese ONA landscape.
