HUMAN LOST (Music)

Human Lost, released in 2019, serves as the musical backdrop for the 3D animated science fiction film of the same name produced by Polygon Pictures. The soundtrack was curated under the Avex Entertainment umbrella to complement the film's gritty, dystopian atmosphere, which reimagines Osamu Dazai's literary classic No Longer Human within a high-tech, futuristic vision of Japan. The music is designed to emphasize the narrative's tension between biological humanity and mechanical augmentation, utilizing aggressive electronic textures and atmospheric motifs to mirror the visual evolution of the film's protagonist, Yozo Oba.

The musical direction sought to marry traditional cinematic orchestration with the modern synth-driven aesthetic prevalent in contemporary anime. By enlisting various composers and artists, Avex aimed for a soundscape that felt both alien and deeply human, reflecting the existential dread central to the source material. Upon its release, the soundtrack was recognized for its role in grounding the film's elaborate, motion-captured visuals, earning praise for how effectively it translated the internal psychological turmoil of the characters into a coherent and immersive auditory experience.
