Where it came from
I was produced by the students and faculty of the Tokyo University of the Arts, widely known as Geidai, within their prestigious animation department. The film serves as a showcase for the rigorous technical training and experimental spirit encouraged by the institution, often highlighting the intersection of traditional artistic sensibilities and contemporary digital filmmaking techniques.
The film emerged from a program designed to foster independent voices in Japanese animation, operating outside the constraints of major commercial studios. Its design emphasizes a minimalist, deliberate aesthetic that challenges conventional narrative structures, reflecting the auteur-driven philosophy typical of Geidai productions. Upon release within the festival circuit, it was received as a noteworthy academic exercise that demonstrates the high level of craftsmanship inherent in the university's curriculum.
