Where it came from
Kikkou no Quarter is a concert film released in 2023, serving as a live performance project for the fictional idol group IDOLiSH7 within the broader multimedia franchise. The production was conceived to bridge the gap between animation and live music performance, utilizing 3D CG technology to simulate an immersive stadium concert experience. It represents a culmination of the franchise's long-standing narrative arc, offering fans a venue to experience the group's discography in a concert format that transcends the limitations of traditional animated storytelling.
The film was produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks, with the creative direction focusing on the seamless integration of high-fidelity character choreography and stage lighting aesthetics. It was designed to maintain the established personalities of the seven members while pushing technical boundaries in concert-style cinematography. Upon its release in Japan, the film achieved significant commercial success within the box office, noted for its strong reception among the established fanbase and its ability to replicate the atmosphere of a real-world idol performance.
