Dale is a cool, composed, and highly skilled adventurer who’s made quite a name for himself despite his youth. One day on a job deep in the forest, he comes across a little devil girl who’s almost wasted away. Unable to just leave her there to die, Dale takes her home and becomes her adoptive father. Devil or not, Latina is beyond adorable, and the adventurer soon finds himself head over heels with being a parent. But why was she out in the forest to begin with, and why does she carry the mark of a criminal?

Where it came from
If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord began as a popular light novel series written by Chirolu and illustrated by Truffle. First serialized online in 2014, the story centers on Dale, a cool-headed adventurer who unexpectedly adopts a young demon girl named Latina. The narrative explores themes of found family and gentle companionship, distinguishing itself from more combat-heavy fantasy tropes by focusing on the domestic development of the relationship between the protagonist and his ward.
The 2019 television adaptation was produced by Maho Film and directed by Takeyuki Yanase. The production aimed to translate the light novel's whimsical and tender tone to the screen, focusing on the character growth of Latina as she ages. While the animation style was designed to reflect the series' cozy, low-stakes aesthetic, the adaptation received mixed critical reception, with some viewers appreciating its lighthearted approach to the fantasy genre while others felt the pacing diverged significantly from the source material's emotional depth.
