After being put on life support after a tragic accident, Keina Kagami's only freedom comes from the VRMMO RPG Leadale. One day her life support system shuts off and Keina passes away. When she wakes up, she finds herself in Leadale two hundred years in the future. As the high elf Cayna, with lost skills but incredible stats, she must forge relationships with the residents of this new world... which, shockingly, include the ""children"" characters she designed herself! A leisurely adventure tale is about to begin, featuring a girl transported to a game world and the smiles and tears she shares with her quirky companions!

Where it came from
In the Land of Leadale originated as a light novel series written by Ceez and illustrated by Tenmaso, first serialized online in 2010 before being adapted into a print series. The story belongs to the popular isekai genre, focusing on a woman who, after being kept on life support, finds a new existence within the world of her favorite VRMMORPG. This narrative structure allows the work to balance themes of escapism with the logistical complexities of high-fantasy world-building.
The 2022 anime adaptation was produced by Maho Film and directed by Takeyuki Yanase. The studio sought to capture the series' lighthearted, slice-of-life tone, emphasizing the protagonist's transition into a powerful avatar. Upon its release, the series was generally received as a comfortable, low-stakes entry into the isekai landscape, noted for its emphasis on the relationship between the protagonist and her non-player character children.
