I''s Pure Bonus

I's Pure Bonus was released in 2005 as a supplemental collection tied to the I's Pure original video animation series, which adapted the popular manga written and illustrated by Masakazu Katsura. The series belongs to the romance and coming-of-age genre that solidified Katsura’s reputation for detailed character designs and an empathetic exploration of teenage relationships. This particular bonus disc was conceived as a limited offering for fans of the animation, functioning as an accompaniment to the narrative arc that spanned the original manga run in Weekly Shonen Jump.

The design of the bonus content reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of the mid-2000s anime industry, focusing on character-centric visuals and behind-the-scenes material. Katsura’s work was celebrated for its expressive linework and the nuanced emotional stakes he placed on his protagonists. Upon release, this bonus material was received primarily as a collectible for dedicated enthusiasts of the I's franchise, serving as a coda to the adaptation of a story that had already achieved significant standing within the romance manga canon.
