The homeroom class gets sucked through a wormhole into - you guessed it! - another world where they encounter a desolate environment dominated by a rampaging magical automaton. There they meet a girl-type golem with mannerisms similar to Megumin, a woman dressed in the same military uniform as Tanya, and a man with a cane who seems to know Subaru, and hijinks ensue.

Where it came from
Isekai Quartet The Movie: Another World was released in 2022 as a feature-length expansion of the crossover anime series Isekai Quartet. Produced by Studio PuYUKAI and directed by Minoru Ashina, the project was designed to unite the casts of several major isekai franchises—specifically Overlord, Konosuba, Re:Zero, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, and The Rising of the Shield Hero—into a cohesive cinematic narrative that moves beyond the short-form, gag-focused structure of the original television series.
The film follows the chibi-styled characters as they are transported to a desolate world populated by golems, forcing the disparate groups to collaborate to find a way home. The animation style maintains the signature super-deformed aesthetic that Studio PuYUKAI pioneered for the franchise, aiming to translate the comedic chemistry of the series into a high-stakes adventure setting. It was received by fans as a celebratory capstone to the crossover project, focusing on character interaction and meta-humor rather than serious world-building.
