Ever since she entered high school, Kotoko Aihara wanted to be in the same class as Naoki Irie. The only problem is that Irie is the smartest student in school in contrast to Kotoko being one of the dumbest. Now in her 3rd year of high school, she still isn't there. However, one day her home gets destroyed and the only place left to go to is Irie's home. Now that she lives close to him, will their relationship be the same, or will it become greater than it is?

Where it came from
Itazura na Kiss, known as ItaKiss, was produced by TMS Entertainment and released in 2008 as a 25-episode television series. It adapts the influential shojo manga by Kaoru Tada, which was tragically left unfinished following the author's death in 1999. The production was aimed at revitalizing the beloved story for a new generation, maintaining the lighthearted and often melodramatic tone of the original work while navigating the complexities of its long-running narrative.
The series was directed by Osamu Yamazaki and focuses on the enduring, often tumultuous romance between the cheerful Kotoko Aihara and the brilliant, aloof Naoki Irie. The character designs were adapted to reflect the era's animation style while paying homage to the 1990s aesthetic of the source material. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the romance genre for its faithful adaptation of the manga’s progression and its exploration of the protagonists' growth from high school into adulthood.
