Jian Wang 3: Xia Gan Yi Dan Shen Jianxin

Jian Wang 3: Xia Gan Yi Dan Shen Jianxin is an animated ONA series released in 2016, produced by the studio Shengying Animation as an expansion of the expansive world established by the popular MMORPG JX3. The series was created to bridge the gap between players and the narrative lore of the game, translating the complex political intrigue and martial arts culture of the Tang Dynasty setting into a more cinematic, episodic format. It aimed to capture the signature aesthetic of the game's high-fantasy wuxia style while exploring the emotional depth of characters familiar to the existing player base.

The production sought to push the technical boundaries of Chinese 3D animation at the time, focusing on fluid combat choreography and faithful character designs that mirrored the in-game models. Upon its release, it was received as a milestone for game-to-animation adaptations in China, earning praise for its narrative ambition and commitment to the source material's artistic vision. By prioritizing the intricacies of the wuxia genre, the series successfully solidified the JX3 franchise's status as a multimedia property beyond its original digital gaming roots.
