Jin Guang Yu Jiu Jie: Xian Gu Kuang Tao

Jin Guang Yu Jiu Jie: Xian Gu Kuang Tao is an original net animation, or ONA, produced as a spin-off of the popular Pili Puppetry series. Pili is a long-running Taiwanese puppet show, known as Budai-xi, that utilizes intricate hand-carved puppets and elaborate special effects to depict epic wuxia tales. This specific production was designed to extend the lore of the established Pili universe while showcasing the evolving craftsmanship of the Pili International Multimedia studios, who have transitioned from traditional television broadcasts to digital streaming platforms to reach a contemporary global audience.

The visual design of the characters and the choreography of the puppetry reflect the meticulous standards established by the Pili production team, led by the Huang family who have stewarded the franchise for decades. In this production, the artistry focuses on the dynamic interplay between physical puppet manipulation and enhanced digital background integration, a signature approach that has defined the series' aesthetic evolution. Upon its release, the project was received as a respectful expansion of the series' dense mythology, catering to long-term fans who appreciate the preservation of traditional performance arts blended with modern narrative pacing.
