Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo PV

The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo PV was produced by Studio MAPPA as a high-concept promotional piece to build anticipation for the series. Released ahead of the anime's debut, the short film served as a stylistic showcase for the studio's technical capabilities, emphasizing fluid motion and the dark, kinetic aesthetic that would come to define the show's visual identity. It was crafted to introduce the tonal shift between the series' mundane urban settings and the occult, supernatural conflicts inherent in Gege Akutami’s source material.

The design and direction of the promotional video were handled by key staff at MAPPA, who aimed to establish a gritty, high-contrast palette that mirrored the manga's paneling. By focusing on rapid-fire sequences and distinct character silhouettes, the creators sought to capture the visceral intensity of the combat scenes. The PV was received with significant enthusiasm by the animation community, setting high expectations for the quality of the adaptation and helping the series garner its early momentum in a crowded market of shonen releases.
