Haré's family receives a video letter from Weda's home in the city. Witnessing how sad and lonely Weda's mother and Bel are without her, Weda decides to take Haré and Guu back to the city for a while. After Haré complains about being bored and lonely without his friends in the jungle (as part of his plot to persuade his mother to take him back), Weda decides to send him to a private school in the city, where he instanly falls in love with a pretty girl named Rita. But, of course, Guu wants part of the action too.

Where it came from
Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu FINAL was released in 2004 as a concluding two-episode OVA series, serving as the third and final installment in the anime adaptation of Renjuro Kintani's surreal comedy manga. Produced by Bandai Visual and animated by Shin-Ei Animation, the project was intended to wrap up the narrative threads left dangling after the original television series and the initial OVA run, maintaining the series' signature blend of deadpan humor and existential chaos.
The character designs were overseen by Kenichi Takeshita, who aimed to preserve the deceptively simple, rounded aesthetic of the source material while allowing for the fluid, frantic animation sequences that defined the show's unpredictable tone. The series is widely regarded by fans of the early 2000s comedy genre for its ability to balance whimsical tropical adventure with dark, subversive wit, though it remained a niche cult title rather than a mainstream breakout.
