Kamisama Kiss◎ OVA

The Kamisama Kiss◎ OVA series, released in 2015, serves as a supplemental continuation of the second season of the anime adaptation of Julietta Suzuki’s popular manga series. Produced by TMS Entertainment, these episodes were created to bridge specific narrative gaps found in the source material, specifically focusing on the 'Past Arc' which provides critical context for the relationship between the protagonist, Nanami Momozono, and her fox familiar, Tomoe. The production was intended for fans who desired a deeper exploration of the series' lore that the standard television format could not fully accommodate.

The design and aesthetic direction of the OVA were handled by the core creative team at TMS Entertainment, who aimed to maintain the whimsical yet emotionally grounded art style established in the earlier anime seasons. The animation quality was noted for its refinement, particularly in depicting the historical settings of the series' flashbacks. Upon release, the OVA was well-received by the existing fan base for its faithful adherence to Suzuki's character designs and its ability to capture the poignant, shifting dynamics of the central couple, successfully acting as an essential companion piece to the original run.
