KENGAN ASHURA Part II

Kengan Ashura Part II serves as the continuation of the ambitious 2019 original net animation adaptation of the martial arts manga series written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon. Produced by Larx Entertainment, the series was created to translate the high-octane, underground gladiator brawls of the source material into a modern 3D CGI format. The intent behind this stylistic choice was to capture the kinetic, intricate choreography of the fights, which proved to be a challenging technical endeavor that polarized long-time fans of traditional 2D animation.

The series follows the protagonist Tokita Ohma as he navigates the Kengan matches, a long-standing tradition where corporations settle disputes through hired gladiators. Under the direction of Seiji Kishi, the production team focused on intense character designs that mirrored Daromeon’s hyper-detailed, muscular aesthetic. While the CGI-heavy visual style received mixed critical reception upon its debut, the series gained a dedicated following for its commitment to the brutality and unique character dynamics established in the original manga.
