Where it came from
Kirakira Kirari☆ was produced by Studio Lesprit as a short-form original net animation. It emerged during a period of experimentation within the independent anime sector, where smaller studios sought to engage digital-native audiences through concise, visually stylized storytelling delivered primarily via online streaming platforms. The project reflects the aesthetic trends of its time, prioritizing vibrant color palettes and fluid, compact animation techniques suited for brief viewing experiences.
The creative direction for the short focused on a lighthearted, aspirational tone, employing character designs that emphasize expressive silhouettes and accessible charm. While it remains a niche entry within the broader landscape of net animation, it is regarded by enthusiasts of the studio as a quintessential example of their commitment to character-driven, standalone narratives. Its reception was largely confined to dedicated online communities that track independent studio outputs and short-form visual media.
